Wild Landscapes

All my life I have been drawn to the wilds for the connection it offers with something larger than myself and a life-force energy that is so powerful that spirit abides in me. When I went into places where nature was allowed to remain wild, my intuition allowed me to experience the magic and mystery of life.

Not knowing became the pathway to knowledge for me, and I learned to walk into every landscape with open arms so I could receive nature’s lessons and become part of instead of falsely believing I could stand outside the natural order.

Alienation has become increasingly rampant in our society. When I make a photograph of a place in the wilderness, I only do so after I have connected with the landscape and allowed myself to open to what it is trying to share with me. I stand within the landscape and let it flood all my senses so that the images I make express my deep connection with nature.

Wild places continue to call to me as I am drawn to their sublime beauty and power, which can be both awe inspiring and terrifying.
