Winter Haikus

Turning Inwards

A dried leaf turns inward

Forming a fragile cocoon

Life ebbs in winter

Eluding Life’s Knots

Tendrils of vines and twigs

Reaching in new directions

Emerge unconstrained

Loosening the Ties that Bind Us

Atop a mountain ridge

January gales loosen

The ties that bind us

Seeking the Light

Old rhododendron leaves

Begin to merge with azure skies

While new growth seeks light

What Lies Within

Dancing within veils

Life’s eternal energy

Shines as it transforms

Rhododendron Bud and Leaves in Winter

Rhododendron whorls

Expand from the sun’s warm touch

To dance in the light
